The best way to start that overhaul of oneself is to open yourself up to learn all you can. Open the gateways to the mind and have fun all the way.  Have some challenges that stimulate the mind and get yourself thinking.  If you have never tried anything like this at all before, expect it to feel a little odd or strange.  When a toddler stumbles and tries to walk for the first time, do you think they feel strange?  But give it a go, or even lots of “go”’s and enjoy the ride.  Have a go at improving your memory. How useful would that be in your life right now ?  Don’t try to learn everything at one go.  Do a bit or section and have fun. Try the next section tomorrow, a bit more the day after etc.  And lighten up on yourself if you hear that old nagging self telling you that you cannot do it, or are not cut out for it, you have my full permission to tell it to STOP! or SHUT UP!

Have a go at improving your reading speed.  Get through more books; reports; novels and web pages in double quick time.  My reading speed was a mere 150 words per minute and I thought I was a fast reader. After reading some of the speed reading material and having a go my reading is now up at around 400 words per minute. Speed reading can take speeds up to 3000 wpm and PhotoReading can take it up to 25000 (Yes 25 Thousand) words per minute. That is reading a page at a page each second. But like all things that are worthwhile in life, it does take a little practice and patience.  Give it a go like I have and double your reading speed at least.
